When I express my excitement of visiting NC to my Seattlite friends, they stare at me in wonder...big eyes, vague smiles...I wonder if this is linked to a conversation I had with a coworker about racism in THE SOUTH. I politely reminded her that racism exists everywhere.
Today it is sunny here. Libby has been extra sweet to me, adopting all sorts of cute little poses and sleeping with her head on my hand. Even my job has been somewhat enjoyable the past day or two. But I will not fall for these tricks! I'm NC bound.
A few nights ago, Peter and I named all of the NC things that we were excited about: thunderstorms, real summer weather, warmth, nice people, better drivers (WA state must have the worst in the world...and compared to SC and Florida, that's saying a lot!), sweet tea, tomato sandwiches, cookouts and good country music. Most of these things can be experienced other places, but they just feel more exciting coming from North Carolina.
So NC, here we come! Hallelujah, Praise the Lord, AMEN!
