Many of you who know anything about me, know that I have been a long-time supporter of the "good ol' hymns" -- you know, A Mighty Fortress is our God, Blessed Assurance, and basically anything else written before 1865 (I exaggerate, sort of). But in these past few days of YAV orientation, I have been thrown into a new world of unfamiliar lyrics (lyrics written after the 1950s) and let me say that singing new songs can be scary!
Already, my experience as a YAV has begun to change me in ways that I could not have expected. Without beating around the bush any longer, my dear friends, I have a confession: yes, it is true. I admit to (gulp) liking, enjoying, no! craving contemporary Christian music! The words of these addictive songs follow me as I go to bed, and they are there when I wake up! I cannot escape, and I couldn't be happier!
As I leave this beautiful Louisville campus on Tuesday, I will be tapping my toes to a now familiar tune that will always remind me of the people I have come to know during the past few days. Our stories are about to get much more interesting, but as they do I hope to always remember the times we YAV came together and worshiped, singing:
N nung yay dah
N nung yay dah o-oh
N nung yay dah m ma bia
N nung yay dah!
